Wild Soul: Discovering the Journey You Are Already On…
June 8, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - June 10, 2018 @ 1:00 pm
JUNE 8-10. A WEEKEND INTENSIVE Everyone yearns for – and needs – a purpose that can be fully embodied. A meaning in life that can be fully lived. You are already on this journey, in one form or another. It is your love for life itself, for all living things, for community, and your desire to do something lasting and worthwhile, that pours itself into the world like a prayer. However, most of us are unclear as to what this journey ought to truly look like, what true gifts we have to offer the world along the way, and who we really are as agents of cultural change.
This weekend intensive is based on the book “Nature and the Human Soul” by Bill Plotkin. The goal is to awaken from our Western-centric identity superficially rooted in peer group, culture and society, and cross into the deeper mystery of nature, psyche, vision and soul-centric life purpose. What is the Earth calling you to do? Your guide will be the wild.
Your Facilitator: John Lew. John is a nature-based self-awareness guide and cultural change agent. His passion is the healing and awakening of men largely through soul-centric wilderness and nature-based experience. He brings his background in Native-based four-directional self-awareness, healing and wholing, deep listening/ mirroring, and meditation to awaken men to their authentic soul journeys. John trains extensively with Animas Valley Institute in the Wild-Mind Training Program, and has trained with the Center for Courage and Renewal and the Chaplaincy Institute for Interfaith Spirituality. John is an Illuman SoCal board member, and did his Men’s Rites of Passage in 2014 at Aravaipa Canyon, AZ.
“There is only one life you can call your own, and a thousand others you can call by any name you want.
Those who do not understand their destiny will never understand, the one life that waits beyond all the others….”
