The men from Huntington Beach just hosted the Orange County Regional Gathering at Huntington Central Park, LA. Thirty-two men attended including the sons of several Illuman SoCal members. It was a powerful day for many young men who were attending an Illuman event for the first time. The theme was Fathers and Sons. There is no greater work for a man to do than to build the deepest relationship possible between father and son. This theme is classically told in the story of the Prodigal Son, and on Saturday we witnessed the extraordinary testimony of being fathered, and being a father, from our brother Paul, with his two sons at his side. At the end of the day the overall message was this: to learn how great a life a man has lived, do not ask for his curriculum vitae. Instead, ask his children… The day finished with the imprinting of the inner beloved onto every man by a powerful mirroring ritual.
“The topic of the father/son relationship is so deep, it’s worth repeating and renewing. Paul’s [testimony] was a very moving story that I will keep forever.” – Greg Pena, Organizer/Participant.
